			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In a major NFL development today, Green Bay QB Brett Favre announces his retirement from football. The popular QB played for 17 seasons in the NFL and put up impressive numbers with 442 touchdowns and 61,655 passing yards during his prolific career.</p>
<p>Favre was initially drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 1991 before being traded to the Green Bay Packers the following year.   Well known for his toughness and winning spirit Brett Favre started every game for the Packers setting an NFL record.</p>
<p>His achievements in the NFL are impressive with a startling amount of records including the most career TD&#8217;s thrown and most career victories.   Brett Favre won Super Bowl XXXI and had a fantastic come back last year leading the Packers to the playoffs.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><font size="2">The Washington Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs decides to step down a second time to dedicate more time to his family.  It was an emotional 4th year for Gibbs which included the murder of saftey Sean Taylor.  Coach Gibbs signed a 5-year deal worth $27.5 million to come back and coachthe Washington Redskins. Gibbs will come back to help the Redskins as an &#8220;adviser&#8221;.  The Redskings have won 3 Championships under Gibbs who posted an impressive 154-94 record.  Joe Gibbs&#8221; final coaching career totals: 171-101, including 17-7 in the post season.  He has a career .629 winning percentage ranking him 3rd all time behind George Halas and Don Shula among head coaches with more than 125 career wins.<br />
